This past week was a hard one because I was hurting a lot physically and emotionally. I tend to take things incredibly personally, so when I feel like someone is attacking me it hurts a lot. When someone who I thought loved me proves that they don’t, it hurts. You’d think by now I’d be used to it, but I don’t know that I ever will.

This week I did not exercise enough and I did not eat right all the time. When I did my weight and measurements I was sad, but not surprised. This week I only lost one pound and one inch. I started to feel bad, but then I realized that at least I lost something. I honestly think that if it weren’t for my Body by Vi shakes, I probably would’ve gained a pound or two this week.

So I am focusing on the positives. I feel really good. I have lots of energy. I am sleeping so much better than I think, maybe, I ever have. I got new exercise games for the Wii and I am LOVING them! I did an amazing hike the other day. Did you see the video? If not, please check it out and vote for me here:  https://apps.vi.com/vistar/channel/554695322?v=iQqEaBgW-ZE#.UBYBk1DyCxc.facebook

Today I did a video about motivation and it was emotional. You can watch it and vote for me here: https://apps.vi.com/vistar/channel/554695322?v=WLkmXdOxL5s

So maybe it wasn’t the greatest week, but I’m still moving forward. If ever I forget, all I have to do is look at how far I’ve already come:

My weight this week is 456.

Fellowship Could Be Nice

Today we went to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens. I know that many people might not know what that means, so I am including a link to their page here: http://www.uuathensoh.org/

Since we moved to Southeast Ohio last summer, we have been trying to find a place where we fit in. We love the area, but have had a difficult time making friends here. It has been repeatedly suggested that we join a church. While that is not a bad idea, we have never found a church that we really felt completely comfortable with. I remembered hearing about a church that was multi-faith and I, being the information nerd that I am, did some research until I stumbled across the Unitarian Universalists. I went on beliefnet.com and went to the Belief-O_Matic quiz (here is that link: http://www.beliefnet.com/Entertainment/Quizzes/BeliefOMatic.aspx )

to see what religion I would most identify with and I matched 97% with Unitarian Universalist (here is the beliefnet explanation: http://www.beliefnet.com/Faiths/2001/06/What-Unitarian-Universalists-Believe.aspx )

Shawn also matched (93% I think) with Unitarian Universalist, so I figured we’d try it. I corresponded with the very nice minister via e-mail and then we decided to attend services. We went this morning. Our first impression was that the building is VERY cool. It’s eclectic brick with build in artwork. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The service was interesting, not like any other church that I’ve ever been to, and very relaxed. Marissa loved being with  the other kids. I enjoyed talking to the minister after the services and look forward to talking to him again soon. We haven’t completely made our minds up, but so far it seems like it might be a good fit.

I could actually do this

I’m participating in the Body by Vi Challenge Showdown. The link above is to my second video. I hope you will take a moment to watch it and rate me (hopefully high 🙂 please). I just checked the leader-board and my first video is 6th. 6th!!! That is so amazing. I am blown away. When I first started the challenge I was really only thinking about losing weight and getting healthy. That will ALWAYS be my main priority in this process. I did start the process of entering the contest at the urging of my awesome friend Cindi, but I never, in a million years, thought that I had a chance. I mean, really, there will be SO many contestants and I am, well, just me. I am all about taking chances, though, so I thought, why not? You can’t win if you never try. I signed up and I made my first video. I have to admit that I HATE watching or listening to myself, but I posted it anyway. Today when I looked and saw that my first video was 6th on the leader-board I almost fell down. AMAZING! So now I’m thinking I may actually have a chance at this. I’m going to make some more videos! If you haven’t voted, please do. You have to vote on each individual video. I will be making and posting more. If you have ideas or suggestions, please pass them along. Thank you so SO much for your support!

Once again I am writing because I am blessed, because I have amazing people in my life who have supported me time and time again. I have been given financial, emotional, and physical support and I appreciate it more than words can say.

I’ve been thinking a lot about generosity lately. Because we are struggling financially, we have needed a lot of help. Yes, we are trying to dig ourselves out, but it is harder than ever to get back up. We are so grateful for the friends and family who have helped us and we fully intend to pay everyone back. Your generosity has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.

A friend of mine, a wise woman indeed, pointed out that friends help each other by being generous in many ways. Generosity does not stop at money alone. People can be generous with their lives, sharing their daily struggles and successes, triumphs and tragedies, happiness and all the other aspects that they are willing to share. You can be generous with your time, spending time with someone or spending your free time to do something for someone. You can be generous with your love. Just because you love someone, does not mean that you are generous with your love. To be generous with your love, you have to show it, share it, give it away and ask nothing in return. There’s a quote about love not being love until it is given away. I really think people should be more generous with kindness, support and encouragement. I say over and OVER, that we lose nothing by lifting each other up and that by lifting others, we ourselves reach higher. I try to lift others as much as I can. Sometimes it isn’t easy, but I try. I don’t have a lot, but what I’ve got, I’m willing to share.

These are not all the ways to be generous, but they are some excellent examples. So in all the many possible ways of being generous, where do you stand?

It’s Not A Scam

I have been on the Body by Vi Challenge for 15 days. I have lost 13 pounds and 4 inches. I feel fantastic. I feel better than I have in many years. I am SO excited that I want to share it with everyone. Of course not everyone is as excited as I am and some people are downright negative. I respect your opinion. I respect your right to have your opinion and I am even willing to listen to it even if I don’t agree. I don’t expect anyone to agree with everything that I say, but it would be nice if you respected me enough to not attack me because we have different opinions. It would be nice if you didn’t act like I was retarded because we disagree. It would be fantastic if we could simply agree to disagree and leave it at that. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work that way.

I’m not trying to shove Body by Vi down anyone’s throat. I am excited about it and when I get excited about something I like to share it. Yes I am a promoter and yes I get paid when people order it from me, but I am not a salesperson. I am not pushy or in your face. I love the product and I think you will too. It is a fabulous product and it has a money back guarantee, so I would say it’s worth a try. If you hate it, if you don’t like it, if it doesn’t work for you, you get your money back with no questions asked. SO how is that a scam?

Body by Vi shake mix is full of vitamins and minerals, has low-fat, low carbs, protein and fiber. It has a special blend of protein that your body digests easily and vitamins that your body can process and use readily. It helps you get the nutrition you need without the extra calories that you don’t. How is that a scam??

Visalus sells the Body by Vi Shake mix for $45 a bag. One bag is 30 servings so each serving is $1.50. If you buy the kits you get shake mix plus other things depending on which kit you buy. For example, if you buy the Shape Kit (which is the one I’m using) you get 2 bags of shake mix (enough for 2 shakes a day for 30 days) plus 10 flavor mix ins. The flavor mix ins are strawberry, chocolate, banana, peach and orange and they all have their own added nutritional benefit. The higher priced kits also come with additional weight loss tools such as healthy snacks and appetite suppressants. If you check on the price of other meal replacements you’ll find that they cost between $1.25-$8 a serving. Again, Body by Vi shakes are $1.50 a serving. How is that a scam???

Unlike most other companies that sell meal replacements, Body by Vi is not available in stores. It is available online though Independent Promoters (like me).  When you become a customer, you get your own website that has tools on it to help you, like meal suggestions and healthy recipes. You can also sign up to join the challenge online. You post your starting picture, track your measurements, write down your goals, and make weekly updates. At the end of your challenge you have an amazing record of your progress. You can also enter the competition to be a Body by Vi Champion. They win fabulous prizes like a cruise, a makeover, oh and $$$. This doesn’t cost extra. It’s a perk. How is that a scam????

Body by Vi also has an amazing system where you can get your kit for free every month whether you are a customer or a promoter. That’s right, as a promoter or customer you can get your product for free. All you have to do is refer 3 friends who buy an equal or greater value kit than yours and yours is free. Does any other company do that? You don’t have to refer anyone if you don’t want to. If you want to pay full price for your kit, that is totally up to you. I, personally, like free better, but hey, that’s me. So, how is that a scam???

If you choose to become a promoter there is a start-up cost. It can cost from $49-999 depending on which level you want to start at. Yes that can be a lot of money, but you get A LOT for that money and you can choose which kit you want. I have never heard of a direct sales company that didn’t have a startup cost, but I have heard of several with higher costs and less rewards. It is a legitimate business opportunity, not a get rich quick scheme. Can you get rich? Absolutely, IF you’re willing to work for it. How is that a scam??

Like I said, and I WILL say again, I love Body by Vi. It is working for me. I feel fantastic and I’m going to be getting my shakes for free, plus making a little cash. I might even be the next Body by Vi Champion. So if you want to come along, then by all means, please do, but don’t think you’re going to stand in my way, because you and your negativity are not welcome on my cloud.

P.S. Yes you can buy it online through Ebay and Amazon, but when you do you don’t get the extra benefits like the money back guarantee and the website with all the support, so I wouldn’t reccomend it.

My weight this week is 457.

The Challenge Showdown

As you may or may not know, I am participating in the Body by Vi 9o Day Challenge. I am also doing the Challenge Showdown. As part of that I have to do weekly (or more often) video blogs. I have added the link to my first video blog here in case you want to check it out and vote for me. Thanks 🙂

Last night was my first challenge party for Body by Vi. I was a little sad that only a few people came, but they were awesome people! I had a great time hanging out with them and I hope we can hang out again soon. I miss being able to hang out with my friends and I am still holding onto hope that I will make some friends that live near me soon.

I am so excited that two of my friends have joined me on the challenge and several more are interested. I really love LOVE love Body by Vi and what it has done for me and I am sure that they will also have really good results! I love that being a promoter gives me an opportunity to help people. This company is so amazing and doing such good things and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

Although today is my weigh and measure day, I am not going to do it until tomorrow. We are away from home and won’t be back until this afternoon or evening. I always weigh and measure in the morning so that my numbers are consistent. I am excited to see what the numbers are tomorrow. I love watching the number on the scale go down down down, but even more than that, I love that I look better and I feel better inside and out. I love all the little victories that I have almost every day and I look forward to many many more!

I love possibilities. I love to spend a little time every day dreaming about what might be and what could be. I love to think of how my life could change in many different ways and still be great, maybe even better. You may say I’m a dreamer…

I have always dreamed of being smaller. Not skinny, but skinnier. I have always said, and I still do, that I’d rather be fat than anorexic. That is my personal opinion. I’d like to have some softness and not lose my curves, but I do want to be healthy, able, and strong. I have had a hard time setting a goal weight because I have always been overweight and I have no idea what weight I will feel best at. As an adult, my lowest weight was about 300 pounds. I certainly want to be lower than that! So, I guess this will be an exciting adventure figuring it out.

I have to say that I never realized how much I like being strong. I have been through a lot in my life and I am very strong mentally and emotionally. I guess I always thought I was strong enough physically. When I hit my physical low point I was so weak that I could barely move. I knew that I never wanted to be that way EVER again and I started turning that weakness into strength. I do strength training three days a week every week. To be completely honest, I hate it. I hate strength training. It’s hard, sweaty and often hurts, BUT it also makes me feel so good. I am building lean muscle, not bulking up, and I am able to do so much more now than I could before. Yeah, I’m getting tougher, and I LIKE it!

I like that at this point in my life there are so many more possibilities than there were just a few years ago. I like that I am more able and more is possible just because of that. Life is good and getting better all the time.

I’ve been on The Body by Vi Challenge since July 8. Since then I have eaten an average of 2300 calories a day, so I am by no means starving. I have exercised an average of 120 minutes a day, so I am by no means killing myself. My sleep efficiency has averaged 90% which is up 15%. In 12 days I have lost 12 pounds and I have more energy than I have since I was 22. How is THAT for a testimonial?
